mining to the west of the permit area is being mined and backfilled to within 50 ft. of the
crest of the high-water bank. All of these features are shown in detail in both plan and
profile (cross-sections) on both the mine and reclamation plans submitted with both AM-
1 and AM-2 to the DMG and County.
The current amendment application (AM-2) submitted in November contemplates an
exact continuation of the previously approved riverbank mining, backfilling and pitside
and riverside protection. A portion of a point bar located west of the high-water bank
will be deeded-over to Adams County as open space as part of "in-kind" payment for the
riverside protection work. Those details will be worked out with UD&FCD and Adams
County shortly as part of the Floodplain Permit amendment required by Adams County in
order to approve our Conditional Use amendment. The entire length of the amendment
area on the east side of the Platte River will be mined to within 50 ft. of the crest of the
high-water bank, as shown in both plan and profile view on the mine and reclamation
plan maps.
This explanation should satisfy your desire for a commitment to the UD&FCD to mine,
backfill and install riverbank protection to their requirements. In short, that has already
been done through the details shown on both the mine and reclamation plans (plan and
cross-section views) submitted to both the County and the State as amendments to the
County's Conditional Use and the State's M-1983-176 mining permit.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact me.
Permit #:1~9.~13-('1,(7 Confidental?:
Class. 1 Type-Seq.:
From: To:
Doc.
