<br />Cotter Corporation - C-JD-9 Mine <br />Stormwater Management Plan <br />Revision 1 -January 28, 1994 <br />REF: Stormwater Discharge General Permit # COR-040028 <br />1. Industrial Activity Description <br />The JD-9 Mine is a uranium/vanadium mine which is operated by Cotter Corporation. <br />Total permitted acreage for the mine site is 11.10 acres and 5.52 acres have <br />been disturbed. Mining activities with the potential to affect Stormwater discharge <br />at the JD-9 Mine consist of the following: <br />a. overburden & waste storage area (mine dump) at JD-9. <br />b. vent holes <br />c. access roads <br />d. mine water treatment ponds <br />2. Site Map <br />Included as Exhibit A is a portion of the Bull Canyon, Colorado 7.5 minute - <br />Quadrangle USGS map showing the location of Cotter Corporation's JD-9 Mine. <br />Included as Exhibit B is a site map of the JD-9 Mine, showing the areas of <br />concern for stormwater runoff and the existing control measures to reduce potential <br />Stormwater pollution. <br />3. Description of Potential Pollutant Sources/Material Inventory <br />a. There have been no materials treated, stored or disposed of in a manner <br />to allow exposure to Stormwater from January 1, 1990 to present. <br />b. There have been no spills or significant leaks of toxic or hazardous pollutants <br />that have occurred at this facility from January 1, 1990 to the present. <br />c. The potential pollutant sources for this site include the mine dumps, vent <br />holes, access roads and water treatment ponds. These areas are described <br />in more detail below. The potential pollutants from these sources include <br />uranium and its decay products as well as vanadium. <br />
