Jf'~1. p! j~iaPUf_'1 250~!iCuc
As we discussed during our meeting on May 18, 1983, the
Colorado Highway Department (CDOH) is relocating a 3.6 mile
section of State Highway 133 (SH 133) in the immediate vicinity
of the Mt. "uunnison Mine. A portion of that stretch of SH 133
being built adjacent to the Mt. Gunnison 5-year permit boundary
requires that a portion of the North Fork of the Gunnison River
be rechanneled. A portion of the rechanneled river will extend
onto two parcels of land within the Mt. Gunnison 5-year permit
area.
To remove Atlantic Richfield and its subsidiary, West Elk
Coal Company, from responsibility for this area, we are request-
ing, by way of a technical revision, that the Mt. Gunnison permit
boundary, as presently described in the Mt. Gunnison Mining and
Reclamation Plan (M&R Plan) be revised to delete these parcels
now under the control of the State and its Highway Department.
One parcel, shown on the attached map as Parcel No. 4, was deeded
to the CDOH and the other, a temporary easement known as T~-4 was
granted to the CDOH. The two parcels, shown on the attached map,
together comprise about 3.8 acres and are located in the south
of Section 9, T13S, R90W, 6th P.M.
In addition, we would like to update the Adjudication File
to reflect the acquisition of three small parcels of land located
in the southeast : of Section 9, T13S, R90W, 6th P.M. These
parcels, shown on the attached map and now owned by Atlantic
Richfield, total approximately 2.7 acres and are described as
follows:
a. A tract described as commencing at a point from
which the southeast corner of said Section 9 bears
south 47° 21' east 1,100 feet; then north 4° 30'
west 139 feet; then east 258 feet; tf~en south 213
feet; then northwesterly in a straight line a dis-
tance of 258 feet, more or less, of the point of
beginning, being that tract covered by that
warranty deed recorded in Book 356 at Page 460 of
the records of Gunnison County, Colorado.
ANACONDA Minerals Company ~s a On'i lion of Alla nlic R~cM1l~e to Com pa ny AMC06000 (1871
