The map should show existing surface
contours.
~~Cr~~C yS On the mining map(s) , please show the direction of mining,
v~~~~_NnF delineation of each phase if possible, locations of roads,
stockpiles, sediment control structures, and crusher set-up.
~iovG.~ ant ~ If there are set-backs from existing structures or other areas
~,tc~ra~(,e~, to not be disturbed, please represent them also.
Exhibit D - Mining plan
The narrative is clear, for as long as it lasts, but it is not
complete. The explanation of the full 77 acres is not
~ included. Please add more information if possible regarding
the final phases at the west end, including timeframes
projected.
If there are to be specific setback distances from structures
(fences, powerpoles, telephone poles, borrow ditches,
underground cables and pipelines, etc.) please state them.
~+ Also, for any mining that is planned to occur within 200 feet
of any structure, please include statements from the owners of
the various structures either waiving liability for damages or
setting out an agreement for potential damages. This includes
structures outside of the permit area.
t1ps v Is the crusher to be moved as mining progresses westward?
Will there be need for controlling runoff entering the area
from offsite (from the north)? Are culverts, dams or ditches
~~ ~ expected to be needed? Is topsoil to be stripped and piled
separately from overburden? How deep is mining expected to
~'~ ,. go? What type of geology/surface will be left at the floor of
~ '-' the pit before respreading overburden and topsoil?
S Exhibit E - Reclamation plan
Drainage is stated to run to the culverts at the east (your
3;~ ~ page 475), but there is no mention of sediment control. What
is to be the final sloping of the pit walls or embankments
~+ around structures (with or without setbacks)? What structures
fit""`~ or features will remain after reclamation? How will roads be
~C5 ~ reclaimed? Will field terraces (along the contour) be used to
11'' catch runoff and control erosion?
ND
Your page 483, labeled "Exhibit G, I, J" should be included in
this Exhibit E instead. In it, it states that the pit floor
~ is west-sloping. This must pertain only to those portions
~~i• C west of the pipeline, correct? This also states that planned
J~
D /a,rcc~(, .
