Lone <br />Division Diredpr <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph <br />4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on March 3, 1998, an application to revise coal mining operations at the Coal Ridge <br />No. I Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submi«ed by NC[G Financial, Inc.. All <br />review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filin¢. <br />Stipulation #27 of the permit required that the vegetation success standards for the Coal Ridge No. 1 Mine be clarified. The <br />revision also intends to eliminate the woody stem density standards completely and change the species diversity standard. <br />The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 7 miles west of Glenwood Springs, Colorado. The <br />permit area is further described as follows: <br />T6S, R91 W; Portions of Sections I and 12 <br />T6S, R90W; Portions of Sections 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, l5 and 16 <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Storm King Mountain and New Castle <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the GarFeld County Courthouse, 109 8th SI <br />Ste 200, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601, and a[ the Division office. For additional information or to provide written comments, <br />contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. <br />In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments be submitted within fifteen (I S) days of this <br />letter.
