1
EXHIBIT E (Cont'd)
Reclamation Standards. dining will create a topography
' appropriate to the final land use. Only very minor grading will
' be necessary. The floor of the quarry will have a slight crown
running north and south. This will allow runoff to flow to the
' historical watersheds. The north end of the property will be
left with 40-foot benches thus allowing the operator to maximize
the extraction of aggregate from this site. The very nature of
' the basalt dike allows nearly vertical slopes between the benches.
This open pit operation will have no drill holes or auger
' holes remaining and has no addits or shafts.
There are to be no earth dams.
' No toxic or acid-forming material will be encountered or
1 used in the operation.
All refuse will be hauled off site or buried in appropriate
' low areas so that unsightliness and deleterious effects will be
controlled.
' In those areas where revegetation is part of the reclamation
plan, land will be revegetated in such a way as to establish a
diverse, effective and long-lasting vegetative cover that is
' capable of self-regeneration and is at least equal in extent of
cover to the natural vegetation of the surrounding area. Refer
to P.evegetation Program later in this report for details.
Soil removal and storage was discussed in Exhibit D. Soils
will be used to prepare seedbeds in areas to be revegetated to a
' depth of about six to eight inches in the level areas and six
inches on the slope areas (see recoiling recommendation at the end
' of Exhibit I).

13
