APPENDIX D-1
REVEGETATION TECHNI
The four basic revegetation techniques to be used are described as follows:
Technique 1 - Uery Steep Slope
A "klodbuster" will be used to scarify the surface on all fill slopes
and on all cut slopes where access is available. The area should be hydroseeded
using 57 lbs PLS/Acre (Seed Mix 2) and 100 lbs. of Conwed 2000 hydromulch/
acre. Broadcast seeding may be used as an alternate method. Fertilizer (18-46-0)
will be applied at the rate of 400 lbs/acre. Native hay mulch will be applied
at the rate of 4000 lbs/acre. The hay will be comprised of native grasses and
be essentially free of "cheatgrass". Conwed netting will be used to cover all
hay mulch. Netting will be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's
v recommended procedures.
Technique 2 - Steep Slopes
A "klodbuster" will be used to scarify the surface on all fill slopes
and on all cut slopes where access is available. A two step hydroseed-hydromulch
method will be used. The area will be first hydroseeded using 38 lbs PLS/acre
(Seed Mix 2) and 100 lbs. of Conwed 2000 hydromulch/acre. Fertilizer (18-46-0)
will be applied at the rate of 400 lbs/acre. The second step will consist of
application of Conwed 2000 hydromulch at the rate of 2000 lbs/acre.
Technique 3 - Steep Slopes
A "klodbuster" will be used to scarify the surface on all fill slopes
and on all cut slopes where access is available. The area will be first hydroseeded
using 36 lbs PLS/acre (Seed Mix 1) or 38 lbs PLS/acre (Seed Mix 2) and 100 lbs.
.~ of Conwed 2000 hydromulch/acre. Fertilizer (18-46-0) will be applied at the rate
PD 1000.102 63
