Quality and characteristics of the clay
fluctuate dramatically with lateral progress. These dramatic
lateral changes may make it necessary for Robco to change the
sequence of staging from time to time. Should this occur,
the proper technical revisions will be submited to the MLRB.
Nothing in the mining methods of reclamation plans will be
changed.
Several drill holes encountered the same small amounts
of water in the basal members of the overburden sand that was
mentioned erlier. Its location is unpredictable because of the
lateral facies changes. Leakage from this zone is easily stopped
by covering with overburden. It is not expected that damage
will occur to any aquifer. Yhese are very minor seepages that
require the working face to be drained. When backfilling starts,
the seepage will be completely stopped.
Very minor amounts of water may be used to control dust
under the most adverse traffic or wind conditions. In
general, water on a clay surface creates a very slick condition,
making it most difficult to work, so watering will occur only
when absolutely necessary to control fugitive dust.
12
