Hvdroloav questions:
Exhibit D - Mine Plan
3. Use of the temporary diversions that discharge to grassed
surfaces and to the buffer zones adjacent to the drainages
should be sufficient for sediment control on this project.
3e. The minimum size for the temporary diversions will be 6-inch
cut/berm and the minimum slope of this diversion will be a
positive 1% grade to insure drainage.
Exhibit G - Water
3. Based on the material being mined (clay), historical usage,
and the operators experience; the annual volume of water
needed for dust suppression will be approximately 4500
gallons. The water would be obtained from the main brick
plant in Denver, or obtained locally in Kiowa or a nearby
ranch. "Other uses" would be water for human consumption
transported in containers of 5 gallons or less.
We trust that these responses adequately address your concerns.
If you have any questions please contact me.
Sincerely,
~-
Michael G. Leidich, P.E.
Mines Manager
