If backslopes steeper than 5H:1V <br />must be temporarily created, provide calculations to show <br />that sufficient backfill materials are available to <br />provide a stable 5H:1V backslope configuration. <br />5) Verify that only clean overburden materials or clean <br />concrete without rebar would be used to backfill pit <br />borders. The operator must not dump trash, asphaltic <br />materials or any other materials except as specified <br />above into areas that may encounter groundwater. <br />6) Any trash or asphalt materials presently in the existing <br />pit must be removed. Please comment. <br />7) Please verify that all aspects of trie operation including <br />access roads, processing areas, offices, scales, <br />stockpile areas and any other mine related activities <br />will be within the 15.427 acre permit area. <br />Response <br />Please refer t~~ Exhibit D - Mining Plan (Revised). <br />Comment: <br />Exhibit E - Re~:lamation Plan <br />1) Please verify that 12 inches of topsoil will be replaced <br />on all arEaas to be revegetated. <br />2) The SCS recommendations are sound and will be considered <br />part of tkie permit, with the exception of slope grading <br />requiremecits. Slopes will be no steeper than SH:1V as <br />specified in Exhibit E, not 3H:1V. Please comment. <br />3) The submitted plan for reclamation is an excellent one <br />and implementation should provide an excellent beneficial <br />post mining land use. <br />
