EXHIBIT E
Reclamation Plan
C.F. and R.M.Cooper Trust Pit #7
operations cease. These stockpiles will be revegetated to protect the area from both wind
and water erosion during the mining operations. Seed mix and operations listed in the
revegetation portion of this plan will be followed.
As mining is completed the side slopes will be flatter then 3:1. Slopes of 4: I or flatter are
much more desirable for greater success in re-establishment of vegetation and operation of
equipment. Length of slope will be properly controlled to prevent erosion. Topsoil will
be applied after shaping and tilled to a depth of 6 inches, binding topsoil to existing soil.
Fertilization requirements:
Fertilization of not less than 40# nitrogen and 40# phosphorous will be applied unless a
soil analysis indicates sufficient amounts of these elements. Application will be immediate
prior to or at the time of seeding.
Methods of Seeding:
Seed should be planted with a drill on all slopes of 33% (3:1) or flatter. The drill must
have the capability of handling the kind and rate of seed being planted. The seed may be
broadcast by hand, by mechanical spreader or by hydraulic equipment on areas that are
small, to steep or not accessible for seed -drill operations. This specification does not
provide for hydraulic application of seed application of seed and mulch in a single
operation.
Seed planted with a drill shall be covered with soil to a depth of 1/4 to 3/4 inch. Seed
planted by the broadcast method shall be incorporated into the surface soil, not to exceed
a depth of 3/4 inch, by raking, harrowing or other proven method.
Mulching:
Mulching material shall be applied immediately before or after seeding. Either of the two
mulching methods listed would be acceptable:
1) grass hay or cereal grain straw will be used at an application rate of 4000 16s per
acre of air dry material with at least 50% of the mulch by weight shall be ] 0 inches or
more in length. Anchor mulch immediately after distributing with a mulch crimper or disk
plow
9
