The upgrade
will consist of three modifications which include: (1)
installation of a vault and associated piping for sewage collection
from the Industrial Building; (2) installation of a vault and
associated piping for sewage collection from the Preparation Plant
and (3) installation of required piping for shower water
collection from the Industrial Building. Details of each
modification are described below and illustrated on the enclosed
drawing.
Sewage Collection from Industrial Building
A precast concrete vault (see attached diagram) will be
buried to ground level approximately 150' East of the Industrial
Building and a 4" sewer line will be connected from the existing
manhole to the vault. The manhole currently has two influent
pipes, one carries shower water while the other carries sewage from
the toilet locations. The toilet discharges would be directed to
the vault and periodically dumped by a licensed contractor and
disposed at an approved location.
Sewage Collection from Preparation Plant Buildino
The Preparation Plant currently has toilet facilities
which were a part of the original construction. However, there has
never been a collection system available to accomodate their use.
With the recent increase in coal production and manpower the
following construction is required to utilize the facilities.
Again, a precast concrete vault will be buried to ground
level approximately 600' East of the Plant building below the
embankment of Pond 006. A 4" sewer line will be connected from
