9) The intent of the permit application was to leave a natural
undisturbed berm between the river and the pit area, a minimum
of 100 feet with an additional 100 feet in those areas not
not already having 200 feet of berm, backfilled and wheel
compated with excess overburden material from the pit area.
This proposal was reviewed with.Mr. Red Burns, Larimer County
Flood Plane Administrator, and approved by Larimer County.
This site does lie in the flood plane of the Thompson River.
The 1976 "One Hundred Year Flood" did not show any ill effects
on the pits in this area many of which only had 50 to 75 foot
berms.
10) The Reclamation Plan Map is correct. One large pond is to be
made. There is not sufficient overburden material to create
smaller ponds. Please note that the Wildlife evaluation
concurs with the plan for one lake. In addition, this will
also allow for boating as a recreational activity.
11) We concur that if excess overburden and/or topsoil material
remains it would probably be used to flaten the slopes.
If you need additional information in regard to this matter
please contact me.
Yours Truly,
Construction Management Consultants
~' ~ ~
William G.
