The application currently consists of the six enclosed volumes. The original of this <br />application, which is distinguished by the grey application form, contains original stamped and <br />signed design drawings. The other four sets of the application contain copies of the stamped and <br />signed drawings. <br />We are also providing a copy of the public notice in the form it has been sent to the newspapers. <br />Copies of the application will be available at the offices of the Teller County Clerk and Recorder <br />in Cripple Creek, the offices of the Teller Counry Soil Conservation District -National <br />Resources Conservation Service in Woodland Park, the offices of the City of Victor, and in <br />CC&V's offices in Victor. <br />This application proposes (1) additional surface mining in the "Main" Cresson Mine, (2) the <br />identical type of surface mining in two areas located to the east and south of the current Cresson <br />Mine (designated "East Cresson Mine" and "South Cresson Mine"), (3) enlargement of the two <br />active Overburden Storage Areas ("Arequa Gulch" and "Squaw Gulch"), (4) extension of the <br />existing valley leach facility to the west and northwest, and (5) associated expansion of the <br />infrastructure supporting these elements such as haul roads, vehicle access roads, powerlines, <br />and surface-water diversion systems. <br />It is projected, for this Amendment, that the combination of the Main Cresson, South Cresson, <br />and the East Cresson Mines will support a mine life of about 5 years beyond 2001 (mining <br />through 2005) if product prices remain sufficiently strong.
