The seedbed should be firm and
the seed planted at a depth of about 0.5 inch.
- In order to help create moisture traps, following seeding, a
dozer will traverse the slope in an up-and-down manner so that
the long axis of the track imprints are made parallel to the
slope.
- Grass hay mulch will be applied at a rate of approximately two
tons/acre, and mechanically cried using a crimping machine
to anchor the mulch against blowing.
- A soils test will be made at the time of reclamation in order
to determine exact fertilization requirenents. As recortmended
by the Montrose office of the SCS, fertilizer will be applied
following the first growing season. Note: for reclamation
planning and bonding purposes it is assumed that fertilizer
will be applied at a rate of 40 pounds per acre each of
available nitrogen, phosphate and potassium.
Access Road
The access road is pre-existing and will remain upon completion of the
operation for use by the landowner.
-10-
