" •
CF&I Steel Corporation
Dolomite Quarry
Permit M-77-376
Revised Mining Plan
January 20, 1987
C;
All future active mining operations will be limited to the current quarry floor
(see attached map). No new areas will be disturbed by future mining activity.
A single access / haul road will be maintained to the site. Operation of the
quarry will be in conformance with the current plan except for the limited area
of operation.
Conventional methods of drilling and blasting will be used to mine the dolomite
formation only within the boundary of the proposed active operation. Crushing,
screening and stockpiling of the mineral will be done on the quarry floor and
will continue until all marketable minerals within the area are depleted.
Crushed and screened stone will be loaded from the stockpiles and hauled away
over the access/haul road. Fine materials resulting from the crushing and
screen operations will be used as a topsoil substitute in the reclamation of
the active and inactive areas of the quarry. Initially these fines will be
used immediately for reclaiming inactive areas. When the inactive areas are
reclaimed, fines will be stockpiled only on the quarry floor until required for
final reclamation. As any area becomes depleted of marketable stone or is no
longer needed for operations, it will be reclaimed.
