following parameters is performed on a quarterly basis and submitted to the Division in
an annual report: pH, Conductivity at 25oC, Total Dissolved Solids, Bicazbonate
(HCO,-), Calcium (Ca"-), Magnesium (Mg"), Ammonia (NHS), Nitrate, Phosphate (PO,'
as P), Sodium (Na'), Sulfate (SOa ), Arsenic (As), Iron (Fe), Lead (Pb), Manganese
(Mn), Mercury (Hg), Selenium (Se), Zinc (Zn), and Depth to Water.
2. The applicant has conducted, and will continue to conduct, monitoring (see page 4.05-12,
Permit) of surface water in a manner approved by the Division. The sampling sites are: 1)
Taylor Creek near the mouth of the creek, 2) lower Goodspring Creek (downstream from the
mine) and 3) upper Goodspring Creek (upstream from the mine). The monitoring plan was
submitted under Rule 2.05.6(3)(b)(iv) and includes the following [Rule 4.05.13(2)]:
Monthly sampling for: pH, electrical conductivity, temperature, Total Suspended Solids
(TSS), and flow.
Quarterly sampling for pH, Conductivity at 25oC, Total Dissolved Solids, Bicarbonate
(HCO,-), Calcium (Ca"-), Magnesium (Mg"), Ammonia (NH,),Nitrate-Nitrite, Phosphate
(PO,'' as P), Sodium (Na'), Sulfate (SO; ), Arsenic (As), Iron (Fe), Lead (Pb), Manganese
(Mn), Mercury (Hg), Selenium (Se), Zinc (Zn), and Total Suspended Solids (total
recoverable metals).
[n addition to the monitoring discussed above, the operator is required to monitor (see page 4.05-
15, Permit) discharges from all NPDES discharge points (sediment ponds) as required by the
mine's NPDES permit. Results of this monitoring are reported to the Colorado Department of
Health on a quarterly basis and to the Division on a yearly basis.
H. Transfer of Wells -Rule 4.05.14
No transfer of wells is proposed. All monitoring wells will be reclaimed prior to bond release .
37 Revised October 30, 1997
