Fertilization requirements will he determined by soils test- <br />ing prior to seeding. <br />5. All mature cottonwoods or seedlings over ten feet in height are generally <br />located on the Pre-dining Plan Maps. These trees will not be disturbed by the <br />mining operations. As indicated in the letter from the Colorado Division of Wildlife, dated <br />°1.ay 29, 1979, a number of bald eagles have been observed at this site. The <br />eagle population was discussed during a recent conversation with !",r. Walter <br />Graul, Non-Game Biologist with the Division of ~Aildlife. He stated that the <br />eagle population at the Davis Ranch site was strictly migratory and that no <br />nesting or mating would be even remotely expected. The large cottonwoods <br />mentioned above will provide roosting cover for the eagles. Gravel pit oper- <br />ations will be at a,minimum during the months of 'Jovember through February, at <br />which times the greatest concentrations of bald eagles would be expected. <br />7. The Davis P.anch area presently is approximately ninety percent covered by <br />native vegetation. It is estimated that approximately sixty percent of the to- <br />tal property will be affected by the mining operation. The affected areas that <br />are not under water will be reclaimed using native vegetation. <br />K(1FNIG PIT <br />8. The area that will be affected by the mining operation is presently in ir- <br />rigated farmland.
