<br />MINING PLAN <br />Phase I Area 8, arxd-9 and I O will be stripped, and ftareas 8, 9, 10 and part of 1H1 will be mined <br />(mostly that part of Area l0l which was already stripped prior to 1977). The topsoil <br />from the lower area will be removed first and stockpiled in Area A (Marked TS on some <br />maps). The topsoil will be preserved and vegetated with t~annual rye and Iin~Iian <br />ricegrass. The sandstone over- burden will be drilled and shot. It will then be stripped <br />and piled in front of Area A. Limestone will be removed from areas 8, 9 and ] 0 and W <br />1/4 of area 101. This phase was expected to require 2 years but has lasted fro.n 1977 to <br />1998 and is now expected to last for another year. The total area worked will be <br />approximately ~H43 acres. <br />Phase II Areas ~t and 65 will be stripped and mined. The topsoil will be removed, sto~:kpiled, <br />preserved and vegetated in area A or used immediately in reclamation. The sandstone <br />will be stripped and either piled in front of A or placed in areas which have been mined <br />out as backfill [o facilitate concurrent reclamation. At nresen[ market condi[ionsyq=this <br />phase will last For }5 year~._ The area worked at this time will be <br />approximately ~21G acres. <br />Phase III Areas §1 2 and 43 will be stripped and mined. The topsoil will be removed, stockpiled, <br />preserved and vegetated in area A or used immediately in areas that are bein¢ reclaimed._ <br />The sandstone will be stripped and piled in front of A or used immediatel~~ackfill for <br />reclama[ion._ This phase is expected to lastregccire approximately T~ years at can cnt <br />market conditions. The area worked at this time will be approximately X81 ~ acres. fcrea <br />'- `" ',~,~-~ar--° ~'°'--.;~Concurrent reclamation will continue durine this uhase. The <br />sandstone overburden will be backfilled into the excavation left by extraction of the <br />limestone, leveled and contoured. The topsoil from area A will be spread over the <br />sandstone at a depth of 6" to 12". Seeding will be done with a mixture of Indian ricegrass <br />and Annual rye. <br />EXHIBIT D.
