r EXHIBIT E
RECLAMATION PLAN
As mentioned earlier the applicant intends to reduce the size of the permit area to 58 acres.
The reclamation plan has been slightly altered to reflect these changes. Since the southwest
comer of the property will not be mined the existing mining face will be backfilled and
sloped 3H:1V (Horizontal:Vertical) as the other reclaimed mining faces. A portion of Phase 7
will be backfilled (adjacent to Phase 10) and sloped 3H:1V.
The new reclamation plan reduces the size and alters the location of the proposed
groundwater lake. In Phase B, Bestway Paving will mine below the groundwater table. The
quantity of material they mine below the groundwater table is still in question. Bestway
proposes that at a maximum, a six acre lake will remain following the mining of Phase B. It
will be located on the northwest side of the property and have an average depth of the lake
will be 10 feet. The side slopes of the lake will be graded 3H:1 V.
The end use of for the site has changed from partially industrial and partially agricultural to
industrial. The applicant would like to create a industrial park. This site will be ideal for a
industrial park since it will be slightly depressed from the surrounding area and is already
fenced. Views into the site will be limited.
Access into the industrial park will be from North 35th Avenue (see Reclamation Plan map).
After final grading, the grass cover will be established and Bestway Paving Company will
wait for appropriate industrial users.
Vegetative cover of the site will remain the same as the original application, as recommended
by the Soil Conservation Service.
All other aspects of the reclamation plan will remain unchanged.
