The rock shall be wetted immediately prior to the grouting <br />operation. The grout shall be placed in sufficient quantities to completely fill the voids between <br />rocks. The grout shall be spaded or rodded into the interstices between stones to :ompletely fill <br />the voids. Exterior stones shall be brushed to remove excess grout. The finished grout shall <br />leave face stones exposed for one-fourth to one-third their depth. Grouted riprap in the shallow <br />gradient portion of the dischazge channel, shall be provided with weep holes along; the toe of the <br />channel side slopes at 10-ft spacing and on a 10-ft grid within [he channel bottom. Grouted <br />riprap for the required spillway sections shall be provided with cutoffs and drain pipes at 30-ft <br />spacing as shown in the Drawings. <br />Grout shall be placed when temperatures are in excess of 35° F and rising. Groat shall not be <br />placed if the grout temperature is 90° F or higher. Grout shall be protected from freezing and <br />cured as for concrete using approved sealant, blankets and curing procedures. After grouting is <br />completed no load shall be placed on the grouted riprap until the grout has cured. <br />In azeas where the grouted riprap channel lining transitions to bedrock lined segments, the <br />grouted riprap shall be keyed into the bedrock to form a smooth transition and secured to the <br />bedrock through the use of dowels, rock bolts or other suitable means as shown in the Drawings. <br />The keying-in and anchoring procedures shall be subject to the Designer's approval. <br />N:\DHALLMAMSANLUIS\SANLUIS.DOC g-2 SRK Projec~~o. 14732 <br />
