Please find attached a revision form with
supporting documentation and revised permit pages.
MCC proposes to construct a rock buttress below the S-1 conveyor, and east of the existing RCC
buttress constructed below the screening plant. The S-1 conveyor is located between the
screening facility and silo #1. A drawing is enclosed which shows the location of the buttress.
Approximately 100 cubic yards of rock will be used to construct the buttress. The source of rock
will be from the east facing slope of the lower refuse pile. According to the stability analysis in
Exhibit 51 for the Lower Refuse Pile, the rock located on the east facing slope of the pile is not
necessary for the stability of the pile. Topsoil in the area of the proposed bumess has been
previously removed.
MCC proposes to construct a french drain in the cutslope of the material storage bench to capture
water that has caused a small slump located near the top of the slope. The french drain will be
approximately 150 feet long and will be 10 feet deep. The downslope side of the trench will be
lined with a 30 ml PVC liner and sand and gravel placed in the trench. The french drain will
daylight on the west side of the slump and connect to an eight inch surface ADS pipe that will
route the water from the drain to ditch D2-6A. When the slumped material dries sufficiently, the
area will be regraded and hydroseeded. Map 54 has been revised to show the location of the
french drain and the ADS pipe.
MCC proposes to replace a portion of culvert C2-2, which is currently designed to be a 36-inch
culvert, with a 42-inch half culvert. Culvert C2-2 will remain a 36-inch culvert from the inlet on
the south side of the middle mine haul/access road for approximately 30 feet down the slope on
