Cattany <br />CO 80480 <br />Walden N t <br />lo <br />r <br />, Reso <br />Gra <br />urce Trustee <br />Re: Marr Mine (Permit No. C-1980.006) <br />Permit Renewal Application No. S (RN-5) <br />Dear Jackson County Commissioners: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 118, <br />Paragaph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on September 21, 2005, an application to renew an existing permit <br />to conduct coal mining operations at Marr Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. All review and <br />comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate from this date of <br />filing. <br />Kerr Coal Company proposes to continue surface coal mining and/or reclamation operations on land located <br />approximately 12 miles east of Walden, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />T8N, R78 W, Portions of Section 2 <br />T9N, R78W, Portions of Sections 22, 23, 25, 26, 27, 35 <br />T9N, R79 W, Portions of Sections 28, 29 (loadout) <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Johnny Moore Mountain. <br />Kerr Coal Company has applied for renewal of the DMG permit for the Marr Mine. Mining ceased in 1993. The <br />purposes of the renewal is so that Ken Coal Company can complete the reclamation activities for another 5-year <br />period or until final bond release is obtained. No new disturbances are planned. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Jackson County Clerk and Recorder, P.O. <br />Box 337, Walden, CO 80480.
