CO 80203 <br />Re: Marr Mine (Permit No. C-1950.006) <br />Permit Renewal Application No. 5 (RN-5) <br />Deaz Mr. Simpson: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section I I8, Paragraph 3, of <br />the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on September 2I, 2005, an application to renew an existing permit to conduct coal mining <br />operations at the Marr Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in <br />the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate from this date of filing. <br />Kerr Coal Company proposes to continue surface coal mining andlor reclamation operations on land located approximately 12 <br />miles east of Walden, Colorado. The permit area is fiuther described as follows: <br />T8N, R78 W, Portions of Section 2 <br />T9N, R78W, Portions of Sections 22, 23, 25, 26, 27, 35 <br />T9N, R79W, Portions of Sections 28, 29 (loadout) <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Johnny Moore Mountain. <br />Kerr Coal Company has applied for renewal of the DMG permit for the Marr Mine. Mining ceased in 1993. The purposes of the <br />renewal is so that Kerr Coal Company can complete the reclamation activities for another 5-year period or until fmal bond release <br />is obtained. No new disturbances are planned. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Jackson County Clerk and Recorder, P.O. Box 337, <br />Walden, CO 80480, and at the Division office.
