MAP C870) 268-5256 06/14/06 01:08P <br />UPLAND GRAVEL PIT NO. 1 <br />EXHIBIT E <br />RECLAMATION PLAN <br />P.003 <br />Re-vegetation shall take place on the mined out areas in 2.0 acre intervals within 6 months of <br />completion of excavation of each two acre interval, Re-vegetation shall be firmly established as <br />determined by inspection by Division of Minerals and Geelogy personnel No more than eight (8) <br />acres shall be un-reclaimed at any time during the life of the pit. <br />The gravel deposit will be removed down to the underlying Mancos Shale formation. <br />Overburden shall be placed on any exposed shale to a minimum of two (2) feet in depth and <br />topsoil replaced to a minimum of one (1) foot in depth. See Reclamation Plan chart for specific <br />unit by unit handling of the overburden and topsoil. A seed mix and application criteria <br />recommended by BLM will be used and is included for reference. No trees exist or will be <br />established on the site. <br />Diversion ditches and contoured corrugates will be constructed to disperse storm flows into the <br />lower areas being reclaimed to help establish vegetation, <br />A 2 foot deep catch basin (30'x330') in the storage area (Unit 1 and 2) will collect excess Storm <br />run-off which is not absorbed by the reclaimed areas uphill. No run-off or storm water or <br />sediment will exit the site. <br />The reclaimed surface will slope to the Southwest at 4-6 percent grade. Re-vegetation will take <br />place within six months of each unit completion in 2 acre increments as the extraction continues <br />to the Northeast. The mining of the gravel pit fs estimated to take approximately 10 years, but <br />could be longer depending on the community's need for the materials produced. When all <br />mining is completed, all diversion ditches, haul roads and catch basins will be reclaimed, and <br />mining related structures will be removed from the site. Final reclamation of Units 1 and 2 will <br />then take place and could take approximately 2 additional years to firmly establish vegetation. <br />Unit 11 is primarily outside any affected area but is part of the overa!! grading plan of Upland <br />Estates Subdivision, Final grading of Units 1 thru 11 is intended to take place concurrently with <br />the mining and reclamation activities in order to prepare Lots 7,8 and 9 for future residential <br />use. During the re-grading process of lots 7, 8 and 9, D 1/4 Road right-of-way shall also be <br />improved for residential use according to Mesa County standards. It is understood that during <br />the life of the mine, any subdivision improvements on Lots 7, 8 and 9 will not be construed as a <br />violation of this permit, <br />
