Table 1 A. Definition of Nawral Heritage Global Rarity Ranks
These ranks should not be interpreted as legal designations.
* Global Rank (G): Based on the range-wide staves of a species.
/ G 1 Critically imperiled globally because of exveme rarity (5 or fewer
occurences, or very few remaining individuals), or because of some factor of
iu biology making it especially vulnerable to extinction.
G2 Imperiled globally because of rarity (6 to 20 occurrences), or because
of other factors demonsvably making it very vulnerable to extinction
throughout iu range.
G3 Vulnerable throughout iu range or found locally in a resvicted range
(21 to 100 occurrences).
G4 Apparently secure globally, though it might be quite rare in parts of
iu range, especially at the periphery.
G5 Demonstrably secure globally, though it may be quite rare in parrs of
( iu range, especially at the periphery.
1'
GX Presumed extinct.
G#? Indicates uncertainty about an assigned global rank.
~, GU Unable to assign rank due to lack of available information.
GQ Indicates uncertainty about taxonomic staves.
G#T# Trinomial rank (T) is used for subspecies or varieties. These taxa are
ranked on the same criteria as G 1-G 5.
! , - - _
1
~~ _.
