PERMIT RENEWAL TEXT UPDATE
Dear Ms. Pavlik:
I am responding to your letter of May 25, 1994.
WFU's response to your additional inquiries is outlined below.
Comment 5: Page II.B-8 has been revised to describe the syncline as
northwest/southeast trending.
Comment 10: The known extent of the three hydrologic zones is shown most clearly in
Figure II.C-31 which shows the recharge and discharge areas for the hydrologic zones.
These zones are not acquifers since they do not store and transmit water in sufficient
quantities for beneficial use. (Please see Section II.C.3.f Identified Aquifers). There
appears to be some confusion between the terms "aquifer" and "hydrologic zone". The
three hydrologic zones are lithologically distinct groups of strata that do not have the
hydrologic characteristics that would define them as aquifers. Therefore, questions about
whether they are regional or perched and their saturated thickness do not apply.
Comment 18: The LC50 and TDS graph has been referenced in Page II.C-85. The graph
has been labeled as page II.C-87.
Suite #305
405 Urban Street
lakevood.
