stockpiles. this information was included in the operator's
response. The volume of coal to be moved was based on the
assumption that there are 1,700 lbs/cuyd of coal. It was assumed
that the volumes provided for the clean coal and stoker coal
stockpile was half of the total coal stockpile capacity. Please
see tasks 103 and 104.
Response - The bond has been modified to reflect the removal of
foundations and revised volume calculation for the storage bin.
The cost to haul away the stockpiles (clean and stoker) has been
previously submitted and the cost to haul the 50,000 tons
associated with the ROM stockpile is included in the revised bond
calculation. It should be noted that Twentymile was placing the
material in the portal area and not taking it to the refuse pile.
In the event of bond forfeiture it is assumed the Division would
place the coal in the portal area, which is closer to the
stockpiles than the refuse pile. Therefore, Twentymile believes
its bond estimate for removing the stockpiles is realistic.
2. Volumes of topsoil to be removed for this project was provided
as requested. However, a task to replace topsoil from stockpiles
SF-4 and PPSP-1 were not included in the operator's estimate. In
addition, I recalculated the task to replace soil from PPSP-2.
Please see tasks 105, 106, and 107. The haul distance was measured
using Figure i1C. the operator should provide a scale for this
figure. With your assistance, we determined the scale to be 1" _
400'. If this is incorrect, please let me know so I can
recalculate the tasks.
Response - The Division's estimate has been incorporated into the
bond estimate.
3. As the operator clarified that an access road will not be
constructed and a section of haul road B will be relocated, no
further response is required. I understand that haul road B will
be retained as a permanent road, so task 101 (previously provided)
was revised to reduce the size of the haul road.
Response - The segment of Haul Road B that will be relocated will
not be part of the permanent road. This segment of the road will
be removed during site grading. The permanent road will follow the
previously approved course and is covered under Twentymile's
existing bond.
4. No response was provided. If Pond E is significantly larger
than the current pond, the reclamation task will need to be
revised.
Response - As stated in the March 2, 1995 response, Pond E will not
be significantly larger than the existing pond.
5. Task 100 (previously provided) was revised to add 16,000 cubic
yards of material and the description of the task was changed to
reflect preparation plant site regrading.
