0
Please refer to Map Exhibit D-1 amended 11/84, revised May, 1985
for the location of Stage Z.
Amendaent 3 Fill propasal
This amendment will be to fill a ravine in old Stages 2 6 S.
This area is now included in Stage 1. The overburden encountered
in the upper part of Stage 1 will be hauled thru a notch cut in a
ridge along the south side of Stage 2 labeled Transportation
Corridor and will be dumped into this ravine. The Transportation
Corridor is within the area to be mined and will be removed as
the mine face progresses east across the property. Providing
sufficient fill is available the ravine will be filled to approxi-
mately the 7380 foot elevation or just under the top of the ridge
separating the operation from U. S. 6. This will increase the
amount of reclamation required in Stage 1 by 5.72 acres +/- and
reduce the amount of reclamation in Stage 2 by 1.34 acres +/-.
The additional 4.38 acres +/- will be removed from Stage S. As always
a any salvagable soils encountered in the ravine will be stock piled
prior to commencement of filling.
This ravine drains approximately 78.94 acres. Provisions
a will be made to place a 6 inch pipe under the fill to allow
unrestricted drainage until mining has progressed into the drainage.
As mining moves into this drainage any water encountered will be
diverted along the mine floor to the creek along the west side of
Stage 1. This is consistant with the original reclamation plan.
a To date no water has been observed flowing thru this drainage.
Below are the calculations for the estimated discharge from this
drainage for a Type IIA storm, 100 year/24 hour event.
a 6
