MANAGEMEM
REC~,v~D
Mph 101001
O`V,5`0n °\ M\°a~a\s and ~e0\o9V
On behalf of Bowie Resources Limited, enclosed is an application for a technical
revision to provide for the drilling of five gob vent boreholes and four exploratory holes
on USDA Forest Service managed lands. Approximately 3.6 miles of new and
upgraded roads will be constructed. The USDA Forest Service has prepared an
environmental assessment for this project.
Related permit actions include:
TR-20 provided for the installation of 15 gob vent boreholes and the associated
construction of light use roads and drill sites. This revision also incorporated
new, upgraded and refurbished light use roads and drill sites into the permit that
were disturbed under approved exploration drilling permits. The fifteen GVBs
drill sites and associated light use roads were located on surface owned by BRL
and the BLM. Right of entry on the BLM managed land is authorized by Federal
Coal Lease COC-61209.
2. MR-19 provided for the installation of up to three geotech holes to further
investigate the fault. These holes were drilled on an existing light use road so no
additional disturbance occurred. The holes were located on BLM managed
surface within the Federal Coal Lease.
3. TR 17 approved the installation of five gob vent boreholes and associated light
use roads and drill sites. A generic sedimentation control plan for the drill sites
was also incorporated into the permit.
