<br />11.0 WATER QUALITY MONITORING PLAN <br />i The Division has provided extensive review of the water quality-monitoring plan that is currently <br />followed for the San Luis Project. Based on additional information provided in TR-006 and TR- <br />018, the Division approved revisions to the original water quality-monitoring program. An <br />additional revision is under review as part of TR-026 to address groundwater quality monitoring <br />in the vicinity of the West Pit. <br />Additional monitoring will be implemented in conjunction with the monitoring requirements <br />outlined in the dischazge permits that have been, and will be, obtained from the Colorado <br />Department of Public Health and Environment for operation of the water treatment facility. <br />12.0 CLIMATOLOGY <br />Quarterly reports aze submitted to the Air Pollution Control Division of the Colorado <br />Department of Public Health and Environment that provide information on: (1) precipitation, (2) <br />wind direction, (3) wind velocity, and (4) temperature. Copies of these reports, baseline studies, <br />quarterly, and annual reports, aze maintained at the BMRI San Luis Project field office. These <br />. reports aze not forwazded to the Division, but results aze discussed below wikh appropriate <br />sections of these documents included. <br />The predominant wind direction is east-northeast with the next most dominant direction being <br />the return flow from the west-southwest. The mean wind speed for the site is 7.6 knots or 8.7 <br />miles per hour. <br />Evaporation records are maintained and reported with the Water Accounting Report per Water <br />Decree Case No. 89C W32. Also see Exhibit K of the Approved Permit which provides expected <br />levels of precipitation, evaporation, and temperature. <br />13.0 GEOCHEMICAL DATA AND ANALYSIS <br />The approved permit contains geochemical analyses of the material exposed by mining, placed in <br />on-site containment systems or facilities, stockpiled, or disposed of on the affected land. The <br />information can be found in Sections D.6.2.2 and D.7.3.2 and Appendix F, the permit <br />amendment, and TR-018.
