west of the San Luis Project the geology is more conducive to providing groundwater in
. quantities sufficient to support agricultural uses, in addition to domestic and municipal water
supply.
Baseline water quality conditions for groundwater were developed eazly in the development of
the San Luis Project, and that information is contained in the original CMLRB Mine Permit
M-88-112.
Technical Revision 006 specified the minimum water quality that would be analyzed in water
quality samples collected in conjunction with the groundwater-monitoring program. A general
discussion of analytical detection limits was also provided in TR-006.
10.0 SURFACE WATER CONTROL AND CONTAINMENT FACILITIF7S
The surface water control and containment facilities associated with the mill and tailings
facilities were designed and certified by a licensed professional engineer. Exhibits C and D of the
approved permit and permit amendment contain the pertinent information regazding these
• facilities.
Additional surface-water diversion structures have been designed in support of the
implementation of the water management plan developed and presented in TR-026 for the West
Pit azea. Engineering design reports for the surface-water diversion structures have been
submitted to the Division. As-built reports will be provided to the Division when available.
Water quality data have been collected at surface water stations throughout the life of the San
Luis Project. Specifications for surface water quality monitoring were outlined in TR-006, and
aze subsequently modified in TR-026.
Technical Revision 006 specified the minimum water quality that would be analyzed in water
quality samples collected in conjunction with the surface water-monitoring program.
