Donald E. Frick, E.I.T.
South Platte Combined Replacement Plan
November 14, 2006
Little Cache La Poudre Ditch
The two Little Cache shares were historically used to irrigate 73.5 acres of pasture grass.
Using aBlaney-Criddle analysis the potential crop consumptive use for the 73.5 acres of
pasture grass was determined to be 105.1 acre-feet. Assuming a 10% ditch loss and 55% farm
efficiency the dry year consumptive use was determined to be 74.4 acre-feet. Aggregate will
utilize 0.5 shares of the Little Cache shares to this plan. The consumptive use credit associated
with 0.5 shares is 18.6 acre-feet.
Citv of Fort Collins Lease
The applicant has leased 8.61 acre-feet of fully consumable replacement water from the City of
Fort Collins. Pursuant to your letter dated June 12, 2006, this replacement source replaces the
CBT water which was originally proposed as a replacement source in this plan.
Tri-Districts Lease
Aggregate is not proposing to use fully consumable water leased from the Tri-Districts in this
plan since the replacement water is not required. However, Aggregate may use the sources in
future plans to supplement the current augmentation water.
Lower Poudre River
Replacement Sources Total
CU
credit CU credit
for this
Ian Comments
W.R. Jones ditch were historically used to irrigate 109 acres consisting of
90% com and 10% beans. Using aBlaney-Criddle analysis the potential crop consumptive use
for the 109 acres was determined to be 136.1 acre-feet. Assuming a 15% ditch loss and 60%
farm efficiency the dry year consumptive use was determined to be 136.1 acre-feet. Aggregate
will not utilize any of the shares in this plan, however they may be used in future plans.
Whitnev Ditch
Five of the shares of Whitney Ditch were historically used to irrigate 65 acres consisting of 65%
com, 30% alfalfa and 5% beans. Using aBlaney-Criddle analysis the potential crop
consumptive use for the 65 acres was determined to be 96.8 acre-feet. Assuming a 10% ditch
loss and 55°!o farm efficiency the dry year consumptive use was determined to be 64.3 acre-
feet. The applicant will utilize all five of the shares in this plan.
Six of the shares of Whitney Ditch were historically used to irrigate 57.1 acres of pasture grass.
Using aBlaney-Criddle analysis the potential crop consumptive use for the 57.1 acres was
determined to be 96.8 acre-feet. Assuming a 15% ditch loss and 60% farm efficiency the dry
year consumptive use was determined to be 84.64 acre-feet. The applicant will utilize five of
the six shares to this plan. The consumptive use credit associated with 5 shares is 70.5 acre-
feet.
