Mineral mining and processing point source category - 40 CFR 436 - subparts E (gypsum), F (asphaltic <br />mineral), G (asbestos and wollastonite),1 (barite), K (fluorspar), L (salines from brine lakes), M (borax), N <br />(potash), O (sodium sulfate), V (bentonite), W (magnesite), X (diatomite), Y (jade), Z (noru;ulite), AF <br />(tripoli), and asphalt batch plants located at any facility otherwise covered by this general permit: <br />No monitoring is required (unless specified by the Division). An amual report m the Division on whether or <br />not a dischuge of process water has taken place at the facility is required (see Part I.D.3.b of the permit). <br />4. Flow Measurirtu Device <br />If not already a part of the permitted facility, within ninety (90) days after the effective date of the certification, a <br />flow measuring device shall be installed to give representative values of effluent quantities at the respective discharge <br />points. A flow measuring device will be applicable at all designated discharge points of process water. The Flow <br />may also be determined by using the pump capacity multiplied by the length of time the pump is operated. provided <br />that the accuracy requirement (see below) is met. <br />When the facility is not operating, and no discharge is occurting (e.g., if it is shut down for the winter), a Flow <br />measuring device is not required to be on site. <br />At the request of the Water Quality Control Division, or the Environmental Protection Agency, the: permittee shall <br />show proof of the accuracy of any flow-measuring device used in obtaining data submitted in the monitoring report. <br />The Flow-measuring device must indicate values within tau (10) percent of the actual flow being discharged. <br />C. EFFLUENT LIMITATIONS AND CONDITIONS - STORMWATER DISCHARGE <br />('this section (I.C) applies to all facilities with a discharge of stormwater.) <br />General Limitatior-S <br />a. Stormweter discharges from the industrial activity shall not cause or threaten to cause pollu;ioo, contamination <br />or degradation of any State waters. <br />b. There shall be no discharge of smitary waste waters from toilets or related facilities. <br />c. No chemicals are to be added to the discharge unless permission for the use of a specific chemical is granted <br />by the permit issuing authority. In granting the use of such chemicals, additioml limitations and monitoring <br />requirements may be imposed. <br />d. Bulls storage structures for petroleum products and other chemicals shall have adequate protection so as to <br />prevent soy reasonable loss of the material from entering discharged waters or waters of the State. <br />
