Summary of Sampler Installation
<br />For MWD-1 And MWD-2
<br />On September 26, 2000, a sinker bar was lowered down the wells and footage was obtained with
<br />a cable meter to ensure open hole and verify TD. TD's were similaz to earlier findings at MWD-
<br />2 (1702') and MWD-1 (1730'). Once the open hole and footage was verified, the Monoflex
<br />(Timpco) stainless steel (1.66" X 40") sampler was lowered to the bottom with two '/a" nylon
<br />sample lines. The samplers were modified to remove the check ball on dischazge side and
<br />therefore can be sampled from either nylon tube at the surface, which can be an aid for plugging
<br />problems. Samplers were raised approximately one foot off the bottom. A nitrogen tank was
<br />utilized to check for leaks and obtain a sample prior to final completion. No leaks were detected
<br />and a water sample was obtained for field parameters (see MWD1- 9/26/00 and MWD2-9/26/00
<br />data). Silica (round, well completion) sand (#8-12 size -100 lbs.) was slowly poured down the
<br />casing, filling the bottom open hole approximately 12 feet from the bottom and around the
<br />sampler. Seven pounds of bentonite pellets were slowly poured down the well to add one foot of
<br />bentonite and restrict vertical movement of water. One hundred and fifty pounds or
<br />approximately 16' of sand (# 10 -20 size) was poured down the well to bring the level of sand up
<br />to the bottom of the casing. At the surface, down hole tubing was secured to teflon covers to
<br />protect tubing from sun and drying conditions.
