The following explanations of the reported statistics demonstrate that the site was visited per permit regulations:
Outfalls 002 and 007 demonstrated no reportable discharge until the sites were visited on 3/23/98, so all statistics are
based on one measurement; Outfall 016 demonstrated no reportable discharge until the site was visited on 3/31/98,
but all field statistics are based on Eour measurements due to WET testing being performed at that time; Outfalls 001
and 005 have field statistics based on siz measurements due to WET testing being performed at that time; Outfall 009
could not be accurately measured for flow parameters on 3/5/98 due to a leak in the weir, which is now fixed; On
3/l6/98, Outfa11009 could not be measured for the pH parameter because of faulty equipment, this too has been
remedied for future sample readings.
Outfalls 001, 005, and 007 are being tested for Hardness in addition to the required parameters. TCC is conducting
some internal sampling to further explain some issues that have previously been in question with the NPDES
requirements. A copy of these results is included in the submittal.
Please contact me at (970) 879-3800, ext. 2805 for any further questions or additional information.
Colorado Ya a Coal Company
~l
vy~ ~IG~'V~ G2
t phanie S.
