P., is submitting this July 1,1999 through October 31, 1999
Groundwater Monitoring Report in compliance with Hard Rock Mining Operation
Permit No. M-99-002 for the Yankee Gulch Sodium Minerals Project. The data
presented in this document represents the first four months of the Baseline
Commercial Phase I Groundwater Monitoring Program. Data is being submitted
as it is accumulated and processed rather than at the end of the 13 month period
in accordance with July 16, 1999, Permit No. M-99-002 Rider Stipulation No. 1,
to allow adequate opportunity for evaluation of the data by interested parties.
Section 1.0 provides a regional map (Figure 1-1) showing the location of the
Piceance Site and an overview of the ground water monitoring wells including a
map (Figure 1-2) illustrating the respective location of each well in relation to the
• proposed and existing structures. Also included in this section are
potentiometric surface plots of the water level data for both the upper (Figure
1-3) and lower (Figure 1-4) aquifers using regional and site-specific data
gathered during the monitoring period. A diagram (Figure 1-5) showing the
nitrogen gas displacement pump used in ground water sample collection is
included at the end of Section 1.0.
Detailed well histories and well completion information for each individual weii
along with the analytical water quality data summary tables for each respective
sampling location comprises Section 2.0, the bulk of this document.
Quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) data summarizing relative percent
difference of sample duplicates and results of other QA/QC sampling, are
provided in Section 3.0.
•
