Finally, you had requested a copy of the letter from the Deer Trail Ditch Company to the
Division of Minerals and Geology that allows the Bowie No. 2 Mine to discharge treated
sediment pond water into the Deer Trail Ditch. The Division does not have such a letter. The
Division relied on the approved NPDES permit issued by the Colorado Water Quality Control
Division (WQCD). I do not know if the WQCD has an approval letter from the Deer Trail Ditch
Company or, instead, relied on the public notice process prior to approval of the NPDES permit.
Please contact the Colorado Water Quality Control Division for this information.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please call me.
Sincerely,
D ~-Y~
J seph J.1~dash
Environmental Protection Specialist
Attachments
cc: William Bear (Bowie Resources) (without attachments)
Jim Stover P.E.
