SURFACE CASING DEPTH AND MODIFICATION OF LEAKOFF TEST REQUIREMENTS

Based on the evaluation of leakaff test data, drilling histories, and reservoir paramefers twWilliams Fork
Fonnadon wells in Gartleld County, the surface casing setting depth requirements specified in the September 22,
1998 policy statement will remain in effect whh the exception of new requirements for welts drilled In the Grand
valley Fieb. Surface easing leakoff tests will be performed at the dist.retion of the operator when the
10% of total depth or 1,100 h of surface casing is set as specified In this policy.' W ith the exception of
welts drilled in the Grand Veltey Field, the following eonddlons are to be attached to all Permits to Drill for
Williams Fork Formation gas wells in Garfield County.
The,following shall be required in the Rulison Field Overpressured Area, and is optional In all other
fields:
1. The Rulison Reld Overpressured Area is the folowing (see attached map):
Township 6 South, Range 94 West, Secliorts 9,15-23,26-35 '
Township 7 South, Range 94 West, Sections 2-6,8-10,11,15,16 '
2. Surface casing must beset at a minimum depth of 1,100 feet A surface casing shoe leakoff test volt be
performed at the discretion of the operator. Notify the COGCC Northwest Area Frtgineer during the running
of the surface casing so that he may have the opportunity to witness the test.
3. Provide elf Teak aff test results with the Completiat Report Form 5 when tt is submitted.
The toilowlrtg shall be required in all fields outside the Rulison Field Overpressured Area:
t. Surface casing must be set at a minmum depth of ten percent (10°/a) of the total depth of the well.
2. A sudace casing store leak off test vnll be pertonned at.ttJe dscretion of the operator. Notify the COGCC
Northwest Area Engineer duringihe running of the surtace'casing so that he mayhave the opportunity to
witness the test.
3. Provide all leak off test resuhs with the Completion Report Form 5 when it is submited.
The following shalt also tte required for ALL.WiOiams Fark Formation wells drtlled in Garfield County
