course of mining. Very likely all excavation in both phases
will be completed in less than two years if the planned
road project is completed in the area of the county as now
expected. Orderly reclamation practices are incorporated
intc this reclamation plan.
2. In the event the surrounding pasture is to be used, the
site will be fenced. No fencing will be done if there is no
threat of grazing.
3. The access road is not a part of the mining operation as
stated in the original application. It serves as a multi-
purpose farm trail road for equipment and servicing water
well on the rangeland to the north which is fenced separately.
4. While our experience has proven that there is no problem
establishing grass on 2:1 slopes without the use of retention
divices, we will agree to 3:1 slopes for reclamation purposes.
5. Topsoil volume on 9.9 acres at an average depth of 8 inches
computes to 10.6 K cu. yds.. Therefore, we estimate 9.5 to 11.5K
cuyds should be available.
6. N.A. to this application.
7. No irrigation at either site.
8. The SCS information was not finalized in time for the in-
itial submittal. We will agree to substitute in total the SCS
recommendations and make that apart of our Reclamation Plan
instead of that cited in our original application except for
the mulching with manure. Our experience has proven that straw
mulch is far superior to manure in these low rainfall sites
(dryland) because it avoids burning of tender grass seedlings.
Carder, Ines owner also farms over 8,500 acres in the area and
is a recognized authority on grass seeding practices in Prowers
County.
Sinp~erel~
a/a/~17~~,
cc Carder, Inc.
Prowers County Clerk
-2-
