Concentration 1 was found near the <br />of the saddle, while Concentration 2 consisted of a large number of tools and fla' <br />eroding out of the west side of the saddle. Tools included 1 biface, 3 biface fra! <br />ments, 2 scrapers, and 12 utilized flakes. <br />DIAGNOSTIC ARTIFACTS <br />None <br />EVALUATIOPJ <br />This site seems to have served as a tool manufacturing station and, in light of the <br />large number of tools and flaJ:es eroding out of the rest side of the saddle, protr- <br />ably contains a significant amount of buried material. .Because of this al,parent <br />depth of occupation, site 51.1FG60 has potential for greatly increasing our 1;now1- <br />edge of the pre}ristory of tl~e Craig area, an area for which prehistoric culture <br />processes and affinities are not yet o-rell understood, and should therefor•~ be <br />considered for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places. Since the <br />site is well out of the tray of the proposed development, construction of the 4Jise <br />Nill No. G and I•lise hill ctn. 7 rnines, no action concerning 5FL~GIIO need he taken <br />by Empire Energy Corporation at Chis tinu~ er.cept to mal:c every effort Lo +rvoid any <br />inadvertent deumge to the site and Co notify the BLht district archaeologist in <br />Craig iu,nediatcly should any future devcloprncnt endanger the site. <br />
