This observation is based on the con-
tiguity of the site with a cultivated field, the presence of a road, a power-
line within the site boundaries, an oil pipeline within a few meters of the
site, and the site's proximity to the old State Highway 13.
Site St•1FG80, however, shows considerable potential for yielding infor-
-. mation important to prehistory and has been recommended for nomination to
the National Register of Historic Places. It is our recommendation that the

developer shall make every effort to avoid any damage to the site. The
Empire Energy Corporation should be advised that, with regard to site 5t4F680,
, responsibility for indirect effects such.as vandalism or inadyertant damage
or destruction-is that of the developer. Should any future development
• endanger the site, the BLit Craig District Archaeologist should be notified
' immediately.

ti
