8. <br /> <br />Appraisal of Coal Stripping Impact on Archaeological Resources: <br />Within the proposed coal stripping area in the Williams Fork <br />l~~ . <br />Mountains, Moffat County, Colorado, ue did not locate any signiSicant <br />archaeological resources; the coal stripping operation per se does pat <br />endanger any scientifically or culturally valuable anthropological <br />localities. <br />However, if industrial activities are undertaken in the area of the <br />confluence of the Yampa and Williams Fork Rivers, steps should be taken <br />to protect (and possibly further investigated scientifically) the two <br />knoxn Ute Indian rock localities xhich xe presently know.
