z. <br />Results: <br />Three archaeological sites were recorded. during the cource of the <br />inventory. Only two are within the boundaries of the coal stripping area, <br />but the remaining site is nearby and of some interest. Locations of the <br />two sites within the coal stripping area are indicated on the attache.i map. <br />Site $1•'.:'288, Campsite. <br />Location: T6N, R91W, Nays of SW~ Section 35, Moffat County (U.S.G.S. <br />Castor Gulch Quadrangle), along unnamed arroyo of Johnson Gulch. <br />Site Description: Artifacts and lithic debris scattered around natural <br /> spring area which has been made into stock tanks. Materials scattered <br /> around lower (larg er) tank in disturbed condition and buried fire hearth <br /> erpesed in arro'.~o cut some 200 feet above the upper tank (see site sketch <br /> map).
