Ereternitz) Was assisted in the field and <br />laboratory anal}psis by tuo graduate students from Lhe University of Colorado, <br />F. Charles~Adams and Iarry V. Nordby. <br />As noted in letter to Burton C, Kross dated 30 Narch 1972, an attempt <br />xas made to inventory the area in.late Narch. The three-member party xas <br />in the area on the 9th and 29th of Narch, but Weather prevented completion <br />of the required field xork. However, between the 22nd and 25th of May, <br />Adams and Nordby returned to the Williams Fork Mountain area and completed <br />the field xork, They prepared the proper documentation and laboratory <br />analysis on the 26th of Nay. The SubContrator then prepared the final <br />report. <br />Procedures: C <br />• After a~preliminary reconnaissance of the coal stripping area, these <br />localities suitable for human habitation Were checked on foot. We xere <br />aided in this activity by the report oS archaeological materials in evidence <br />around the natural spring in Section 35, T6N, R91W, by Dennis Weder of <br />Stearns-Roger Coprpration. Inquiry xas also made of local inhabitants <br />regarding possible archaeological materials in the area; xe received <br />uniformity negative responses. <br />Those materials xhich xere collected xere recorded in the field, <br />processed in the laboratory, and the recovered materials are presently <br />housed with the University of Colorado Museum A rchaeological Survey, <br />Boulder. <br /> <br /> <br />
