1
COMPLIANCE W[TH RULE 6: RECLAMATION PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
~ The reclamation plan will comply with Rule 6 of the Mined Land Reclamation Regulations.
Reclamation will be performed on all affected land.
' Gradine:
' 1) Backfilling will be performed only in azeas where the excavated slope must be reduced
to attain a slope no steeper than 2:1. Adequate compaction shall be performed to ensure
' stability of the final regraded surface.
2) In areas where it is not practical to backfill to attain a slope no steeper than 2:1, erosion
' control bench terraces will be installed across the slope. The terrace(s) will be 12 feet
wide and will be at a spacing no more than 50 feet.
' 3) All backtilling and grading will be completed within six to eight months after completion
of gravel mining in a designated phased area.
~ 4) No refuse and acid-forming nor toxic producing materials will be mined.
5) No drill or auger holes will remain.
' 6) Final slopes will be no steeper than 2:1 in the gravel mine area.
' 7) Agricultural crop production is not a part of final reclamation.
` Water:
I) This operation will not appreciably disturb water quality or quantity or the prevailing
hydrologic balance of the affected land and the surrounding area. An intermittent stream
drains a wetland area crossing the middle of the site from east to west. Similazly, an
intermittent diverted stream crosses the northwest section of the site. The proposed
gravel mining operation will not impact the wetland area or the stream draining it. The
' operation will be phased such that water used from the diverted stream will go through
a series of sediment ponds before re-entering the stream channel and leaving the site.
Runoff from the drainage area east of the site will normally be diverted around
excavation areas through the use of temporary ditches constructed around the perimeter
of the phased areas.
' a) There will be compliance with applicable Colorado water laws and regulations
governing injury to existing water rights.
Clteale.ul
1/7M
1 ~
' .
1
