11
EXHIBIT D -MINING PLAN
_~ Mining is expected to begin in Spring 1992. Prior to the actual resource extraction, topsoil will
be stripped from the area to be gravel mined and stored near the plant site (Exhibit C).
'~ Generally, gravel extraction will proceed in an east-northeast direction. Gravel will be mined
~ from approximately 32 acres of the 49.78 acre site. The approximate 15 acre willow-sedge
.wetland will not be gravel mined. Gravel will be removed to depths of approximately 15 feet
' with a D-8 bulldozer and 3-4 yard loader. The mined material will be moved to, sorted, and
washed at the plant site. Wash water will be taken from the on-site stream, conveyed to the
plant site and, after utilization in the processing operation, diverted through a series of three
,~ settling ponds before being returned to the stream (Exhibit C). Processed gravel will be stored
at the plant site until it is hauled away with end dump tractor-trailers. Approximately
70,000 tons will be mined per year with the affected area being reclaimed within eight months
after completion of mining so as to coincide with summer and fall months. The period of active
mining in estimated to take 10 years.

1
1
1
1
1.
1

1
~ ,~,~~ ~,
ir_iM 7
