Haul Road B - Uniform Reach Descriptions •
Stations Descriptions
0+00 to 2+70 Shallow fill,
required.
Note: The fill at
Alignment B conf
shallow cut at
Alignment A to the
no culvert
the origin of
licts with a
the end of
north.
2+70 to 10+90 TH-8 drilled at 9+94, 30' left
and is probably closely
representative of what would be
found in nearby cuts. The cut
should be in clay with a thin
(<2') cover of colluvium.
10+90 to 12+60 Primarily thin fill, with shallow
cuts.
12+60 to 17+80 Cuts increasing in depth up to
about 20 feet southward will
probably be in clay or claystone
at grade. Cuts are set at about
2:1; however, they could be •
steepened up to 1.5:1 to 1:1 if
needed.
17+80 to 24+00 Fill with shallow side-hill cuts;
may require culvert.
24+00 to 32+00 Cuts on western side of alignment
up to more than 50' will be
primarily in clay or shale,
grading southward along the
alignment into sandier material.
May encounter sandstone boulders
increasingly to south along
alignment. TH-10 at 31+90, 80'L
encountered about 15' of
sandstone below a cover of about
five feet of topsoil and clay.
The strike of any bedrock found
in this cut should be about N60W,
to E-W, increasing in dip from 3°
to 10° NE in the north to 25-30°
NE in the south. This strike and
dip range is favorable to the
alignment. Side-hill cuts up to
50' high could be steepened from
about 1.7:1 to 1:1 and(or) could •
be bermed. Cut slopes that are
not in bedrock will probably
24
