• The proposed design and construction of the haul roads, the
sedimentation pond embankment, and the topsoil stockpile areas are
all feasible with existing technology.
2.2 Conclusions
Conclusions presented herein are the opinion of the writer and
are intended to provide parameters that can be used in the design
and construction of the haul roads, the sedimentation pond, and the
topsoil stockpile areas. In effect these conclusions represent
recommendations also, but are not intended as absolute in that
regard since design parameters in this type of geology should be
flexible because conditions found during construction may require
on-site design modifications.
•
2.2.1 General conclusions
a) Geologic conditions along the haul-road alignments, at
the sedimentation pond, and at the topsoil stockpile areas do not
present any unusual problems. Reasonable care in the design and
construction of the planned facilities should assure that manmade
geologic problems are not created.
b) Outside of the specific areas studied for the haul-road
alignments, and the sedimentation pond the geology in the topsoil
stockpile areas will not present unusual problems.
c) Geologic mass-wasting such as landslides, soil creep,
rockfall, and debris avalanches were not observed in the area and
none are expected if reasonable standards of care are maintained
during construction and maintenance activities.
7
