Deakins Pit, 110 New Permit Application- Adequacy Review
Dear Mr. Baker,
Listed below are adequacy review comments for the Deakins Pit 110 Permit Application, File No. M-2001-
060. The Division of Minerals and Geology ("Division")is required to make an approval or denial decision
no later than July 30, 2001, therefore, your response to the following adequacy review concerns should be
submitted to the Division as soon as possible.
Rule 6.3.1 Exhibit A -Legal Description and Location Map
Exhibit A is defined as [he Legal Description and Location Map. The legal description submitted as
exhibit A indicates that the site is located in the SE '/a or the NW '/a of Section 6, T6N, R90W. The
location map and maps submitted as Exhibit E indicate that the site is located in the SE'/a of the NE'/a of
Section 6, T6N, R90W. Please submit a corrected legal description if [hat information is incorrect, or
corrected maps if the map information is incorrect.
Rule 6.3.2 Exhibit B -Site Description
2. Exhibit B is defined as the Site Description. a.) The operator shall include a description of the vegetation
in the area of the proposed operation. Please supply a more specific description of the current vegetation
in the area of the proposed operation.
Rule 6.3.3 Exhibit C -Mining Plan
3. Exhibit C is defined as the Mining Plan. e.) Describe major components of the mining operation such as
a process area. The process area noted on the mining map is not mentioned in the section. Please add a
description of the process area to this section of Exhibit C.
4. h.) Specify how much water will be used in conjunction with the operation. Exhibit C indicates that
groundwater may be used for rock washing at the site, but does not specify how much water will be used.
Please indicate how much water will be used in conjunction with the operation if groundwater is used for
rock washing.
